Peaches and what do you know what peaches are
How to plant a peach...
If you don't mind waiting a few years for your peach tree to bear fruit, growing your own peach tree from seed is a rewarding experience.
All you have to do is eat the peach, save the seed, and follow these steps.
Carefully pit the peach open and remove the core.
Hammer and nutcracker are both sufficient crushing tools.
You can plant the whole seed without opening it first, but the seed germinates faster when the outer shell of the hole is removed.
Put the peach pits in a plastic bag.
Fill the bag with slightly damp potting soil.
Put the plastic bag in the refrigerator.
The refrigerator stimulates seed germination through cold stratification, a cold-curing method that mimics winter conditions.
Check for germination after two to three months.
Once the roots have grown at least half an inch in length, remove the seed from the refrigerator.
Plant the peach seedling in a container. Keep the seedlings in a sunny location and provide enough water to keep the soil moist. Move it outside in early spring after the last frost.
