The lemon tree needs a set of factors for better growth, the most important of which are:


The suitable climate for planting lemon trees is a temperate climate with a moderate temperature that does not drop from 5 to 7 degrees Celsius during the cold winter period.


The soil suitable for lemon must be rich and stone-free


The appropriate time for planting ranges between autumn and spring, with the preference of planting the tree during the spring after the end of the frost period, which negatively affects the growth of lemon trees.


    2. How to grow a lemon tree

To grow a lemon well, you must follow the following steps:


If you are going to plant one or a few lemon trees around the house, you should choose a wide place that is exposed to sunlight all day


Dig a hole deep enough so that the depth is 3 times greater than the root length of the lemon seedling to be planted and the same with the width


Place the seedling in the middle of the hole and cover the root with soil, adding some mature organic fertilizer to the soil and mixing it with it well


Tamp the soil around the seedling well, then water the place and re-tamp the soil again to stabilize the seedling well.


A side pole can be used to install the seedlings, especially if the place of cultivation is known to be very windy


With regard to the lemon tree watering program, it should be noted that citrus needs more water during the first two years after planting, so the trees must be irrigated during this period on a regular basis, but without excessive pumping of water.


    3. Planting a lemon tree in a pot

Yes, the lemon tree can be grown in a large container designated for cultivation, so that the growth of the tree is controlled by pruning because it does not grow larger,


    4. How to prune lemon trees

The process of pruning the lemon tree is very important, especially if the cultivation takes place in the pot as previously mentioned, but the process is complex and sensitive. .


The appropriate time for pruning lemon trees is from March to April until May, depending on the prevailing weather in the region, and any attempt to prune the tree before this date will expose the tree to the cold period, which may lead to its death due to frost.


During the pruning process, the following steps must be taken:


Using good scissors for pruning, we will cut the branches that go into each other towards the center of the tree to ventilate it well


The twigs are cut just above the eye that is above the leaf


You can cut the branches that point upward a lot if planting in containers to reduce the height of the tree, in the same way as well


Remove dead branches first before starting pruning


You can do the process several times a year, but in the specified period for pruning to give the shape you want to the lemon tree.
